BlueLaVa Social VideosIf you’ve ever tried posting a video from your phone, you’ve likely run into Instagram’s 90-second limit for regular posts. This can be frustrating—especially after investing time and money in having team BlueLaVa create a professional real estate drone or walkthrough video. Fortunately, there’s a simple workaround: posting your BlueLaVa drone and social media videos from your computer allows you to upload full-length videos!  It’s super easy, and we’re here to help you. Let’s get started!

Here’s a step-by-step guide to get you started:

Step 1: Download Your Video

The first step is to download the video we created for your listing. It doesn’t matter whether it’s in horizontal (landscape) or vertical (story/reel) format. When you receive your delivery link from us, click it to access the media section and download the video file to your computer.

Can’t find your Delivery Page? No worries—email us at [email protected], and we’ll resend it to you.

Step 2: Log in to Instagram

Visit instagram.com on your computer and log in to your account. You’ll follow a similar process as on your phone but with greater flexibility for longer videos.

Step 3: Click +Create

Once logged in, find the + Create button in the top navigation and select Post from the drop-down options.

Step 4: Upload Your Video

Click Select from Computer and choose the video file you downloaded earlier.

Step 5 (Optional): Add Images

If you’d like to add images alongside your video, click the + sign at the bottom right corner and select any additional files. This is an optional step, perfect for combining property highlights with the video.

Step 6: Select the Right Format

You’ll now see a screen where you can crop your video. At the bottom left, click the diagonal arrows to pick the correct format based on your video orientation:

  • Vertical (9:16)
  • Horizontal (16:9)
  • Square (1:1)

Choose the format that best fits your video’s style, especially if it contains captions or text that might get cut off in the wrong aspect ratio. Once you’ve selected the format, click Next in the top right.

Step 7: Choose a Cover Image

The cover image is the first thing people see when they browse your profile or posts. You can create a custom cover with catchy text using design programs or simply scrub through your video to select a still frame.

To choose a still image from the video, click and hold while scrolling across the frames at the top.

Step 8: Skip the Trim Option

Remember, the goal is to upload videos longer than 90 seconds, so when Instagram asks if you’d like to trim your video, do not trim it.

Step 9: Add Captions and Hashtags

Now, write a compelling caption, include relevant hashtags, and enable any additional options like turning off comments or adding alt text for accessibility. Once you’re happy with your post, click Post!

Step 10: BONUS TIP: Use Your Phone for Additional Features

While posting from your computer gives you the ability to upload longer videos, Instagram’s mobile app still offers more options. After posting, you can use your phone to edit the post and unlock additional features, such as tagging collaborators, adding a location, and more.

Pro Tip: If we created your video, be sure to tag us (@bluelavamedia) so we can share it on our story!

Now you know how to post videos longer than 90 seconds on Instagram! Share this guide with other real estate agents or friends who might find it useful. And if Instagram changes anything that affects the steps above, feel free to leave a comment, and we’ll keep this post updated.
